Our Top 5 Webinars of 2020 on Animal Behavior Research

Over the last months we have hosted several webinars, technical briefings and virtual meet-ups on behavioral research. We have now listed our Webinar Top 5 of 2020 on animal behavioral research for you! Don’t miss out, watch them for free at your convenience.

Our Top 5 Webinars of 2020 on Behavioral Research – the animal edition

2020 turned out to be a year of highs and lows. When the pandemic hit many of us were forced to completely change our daily routines. Working from home became a new norm and most conferences and events were canceled or went virtual. And while these virtual events cannot replace the value of face-to-face conversations, we have now fully embraced them!

Over the past year Noldus has hosted plenty of webinars and technical briefings on behavioral research. From tips and tricks for EthoVision XT and tools for preclinical COVID-19 research to the standardization paradox and integrating video tracking with digital telemetry.

Now we have listed our Top 5 Webinars of 2020 on animal behavior research for you. Just register and rewatch them for free whenever it suits you.

1. Webinar: Data analysis EthoVision XT

EthoVision XT offers integration of data and automation of behavioral experiments with any animal. In the webinar ‘Data analysis, organization, and visualization in EthoVision XT and Microsoft Excel’ experienced Noldus Trainer Wilant van Giessen guides you through a typical workflow in EthoVision XT. Learn how you can select, analyze, organize and export your data while getting a demonstration of the software and inside tips and tricks.

3. Webinar: Tips and tricks when using EthoVision XT

Over the last 25 years, EthoVision XT has evolved from video tracking software into a software platform. Anno 2021 EthoVision XT is the most widely applied video tracking software that tracks and analyzes the behavior, movement, and activity of any animal.

In this webinar you will get an inside view in all the hidden tips and tricks that EthoVision XT has to offer. There’s a lot more than meets the eye, so we look forward to show you the way!

4. Lessons From The Core: Longitudinal Assessment vs. Point Sampling of Behaviors in Mice

Together with InsideScientific we organized a webinar about longitudinal behavioral studies and home cage monitoring technology used in behavioral research. Lior Bikovski and Shivang Parikh from Tel-Aviv University presented their view on longitudinal behavioral studies and how to optimize the use of home cage monitoring (HCM) systems for behavioral research.

5. Webinar: Making good detection settings in EthoVision XT

The core function of EthoVision XT is the detection and tracking of an animal. It’s critical to accurately recognize the animal and distinguish it from its background. This is arguably the most important step in video tracking, since without recognition, there is nothing to track.

The detection algorithm in EthoVision XT is one of the reasons why EthoVision XT is considered the best of its kind. Advanced tracking technology assures you of accurate and reliable results. In this webinar, we go over all the things that you need to consider before starting your experiment.

Over the coming months, we'll be hosting more webinars and virtual meet-ups where researchers will be able to connect with Noldus employees, industry experts, and most importantly, one another. Keep an eye out on for new webinars on our website!
