DanioVision is a complete system, including a fully functional EthoVision license and the Observation Chamber with white light, IR-light, and IR-sensitive camera. With this system you can perform a wide range of experiments.

Unlike competing systems where the temperature is measured in the control unit, our system controls the exact temperature of the water directly in the Observation Chamber. This way, you are sure that the water in the well plates is always at the desired temperature. Zebrafish larvae display a robust startle response. The Tapping Device (a solenoid) is inserted at the bottom of the basin where your well plate or petri dish is placed in the DanioVision Observation Chamber. You can set the stimulus intensity on eight different levels. The optogenetics add-on provides a way to accurately control and precisely time the application of optogenetic stimulation to up to 96 individuals simultaneously. This is easily programmed and controlled using EthoVision. One example of a custom solution is a light-dark grid, commonly used to investigate anxiety behavior in zebrafish. The grid creates a static dark and light half in each well. Since the grid is IR light translucent the tracking of the zebrafish is unaffected. What do you need for your zebrafish studies? DanioVision fits standard multi-well plates, from 1 up to 96 wells. Its design allows for consistent and accurate lighting and imaging across wells without shadowing. This ensures you have quality data and therefore more reliable results. EthoVision isn't just tracking your zebrafish and recording parameters like distance. It can track relative speed and overall activity. This can be analysed for your whole experiment or for specified time bins, for example before and after a stimulus has been initiated.
