Animal Group Sensor - Integrating behavioural dynamics and social genetic effects to improve the health, welfare and ecological footprint of livestock

This project combines animal behavior research with computer science to improve the welfare of pigs and laying hens. Genetic and behavioral research will be integrated to understand and improve the health, welfare and ecological footprint of livestock.
The role of Noldus
Noldus will work on technologies being developed for the application of welfare monitoring, including computer vision, signal analysis and data science, with the aim of being able to incorporate them into its products.
Partners
The project is led by Wageningen University and the other partners are the Dutch Society for the Protection of Animals, Farm Result, Hendrix Genetics, Royal Netherlands Veterinary Association, Netherlands Agricultural and Horticultural Association, Noldus Information Technology, Sorama, Eindhoven University of Technology, Topigs Norsvin, Utrecht University, and Vencomatic.
