Application

• Software license: EthoVision XT can now be purchased with a software license instead of a hardware key. Licenses can be configured as:
  • Fixed License: Tied to a single computer.
  • Floating License: Shared across multiple computers (one user at a time).

Video Technology

• New digital camera drivers:
  • Basler cameras: updated to driver version 6.2 (from 5.1).
  • Daheng cameras: updated to driver version 1.12 (from 1.6).
• Deep Learning GPU Compatibility: Expanded support for NVIDIA GPUs. Newly tested cards include:
  • NVIDIA Quadro P2000
  • NVIDIA Quadro P2200
  • NVIDIA T1200

Trial Control

• Permutation for random variables: A Permutation option ensures that a value is not repeated until all other values have been used—useful for randomized trial designs.
• Extended Subrule repeat interval: You can now set repeat intervals of up to 99 hours, 59 minutes, 59 seconds (previously limited to 24 hours).

Data Acquisition

• Import trials from other experiments: Combine data from separate experiments into one dataset—for example, across multiple PhenoTyper cages or DanioVision units.
• Show/hide body points in Manual Scoring: Nose and tail-base points can now be toggled on/off in the manual scoring screen for better event annotation.

Data Analysis & Visualization

• Group charts: Box-and-whisker plots can now optionally display underlying data points (scatter dots).
• Customizable tracks: Adjust track thickness and body point size in:
  • Detection Settings
  • Integrated Visualization
• Improved results table: Headers now clearly indicate independent variables in the statistics output.

• Temperature Control Unit (DanioVision): Now covered in the DanioVision DVOC-0041 Reference Manual.
• Calcium Imaging: New chapter added for experiments combining EthoVision XT with Inscopix nVista/nVoke systems.
• Fear Conditioning: Quick Start Guide for Ugo Basile systems now integrated into the Application Manual.
• Access: Go to Start Menu > Apps > Noldus > EthoVision XT 17 Other Documentation.
