EthoVision XT crashes the moment the acquisition is started on a system that also has 3DHistech's CaseViewer installed

3DHistech's CaseViewer contains a codec that is incompatible with EthoVision XT. Uninstalling the 3DHistech software should solve the issue. If it does not please contact your local Noldus support office.
