EthoVision XT requires a license (hardware dongle or software key) to acquire new tracks from a camera or from video files (including redoing a trial), or to create a new experiment with functionality from an optional module (e.g. multiple arenas, nose-tail tracking, controlling external hardware). A hardware license key is not required to create a new experiment with base functionality (center point of one animal in one arena), use any of the analysis or visualization features, or export data.
