FaceReader 10.0 brings you a myriad of brand-new features to broaden your emotion analysis research:

• Voice emotion detection | Analyze vocal tone to detect emotions even when facial expressions are masked or not yet visible, giving you earlier and more nuanced insights into emotional states. 
• Multimodal emotion analysis | Combine facial expression data with voice analysis to improve the accuracy and depth of emotion detection, helping you uncover subtle differences in emotional response, such as those caused by stress or mental health conditions. 
• Multi-subject analysis | Analyze facial expressions of up to 8 people in a single video, making it easier to study social dynamics, group interactions, or team-based activities in natural settings or online meetings. 
• Webcam eye tracking | Track eye movements and gaze patterns using a standard USB webcam, providing valuable data on visual attention and engagement, ideal for psychology, marketing, and UX research without investing in extra hardware. 
• Vital signs monitoring | Measure heart rate, heart rate variability, and breathing rate directly from facial video, allowing you to capture physiological responses in real time without sensors or participant discomfort. 
• Consumption behavior detection | Automatically detect eating and drinking actions like sipping or chewing, enabling you to study emotional responses during consumption and understand how mood, product experience, or environment affect behavior.

NOTE  | To be able to measure Action Units and Custom Expressions, you need the Action Unit Module .

Installation instructions for upgraders from FaceReader 8 or 9

1. Complete your existing experiment. It is best not to mix versions in one research project. Because the classifications methods are improved with every release, we recommend to use the same FaceReader version within one project.
2. If you upgrade an experiment that was created in a previous version into FaceReader 9.1, it cannot be opened in the older version anymore. Therefore, always create a backup of your project first.
3. Facereader 10 can be installed next to older versions of FaceReader.
4. Follow the installation instructions for new users (tab 'Installation instructions').
5. If you have the Project Analysis Module, use Stimulus Presentation Tool version 5 with FaceReader 10.
