Integrating the Top Light Unit into DVOC-0050

This document explains how to integrate a top light unit into the DanioVision DVOC-0050.

Top Light Unit Set

The top light unit set comes with all parts needed to integrate it into a DVOC-0050.

  • Unit with RGB and white LEDs, plus 2 black 8mm mounting screws
  • 2 black angle brackets with T-slot nut and 6mm screws
  • 2 plastic "stop" pieces
  • Hex key tool

Mounting

Mounting the top light unit into the DanioVision DVOC-0050 is not complicated with basic technical skills. Follow the steps below.

  1. Remove any remaining protective cover from the acrylic diffuser plates on both sides of the unit.
  2. Cover the lens bracket inside the DVOC with some protective material to prevent scratching while mounting the top light unit.
  3. Insert the black plastic "stop" into the profile slot and place the T-slot nut above it.
  4. Fasten both angle brackets at a height of approximately 21 cm, measured from the basin bottom.
  5. Position the light unit on top of both brackets and fasten it with both black screws from below.
  6. Slide the unit upwards to reposition it. You may need to loosen both the left and right bracket screws into the profile nuts. Having someone hold the unit in position during this step is recommended.
  7. Slightly fasten both screws so that the unit can still be slid upwards.
  8. Gently slide the whole unit upwards until it is approximately 22 to 23 cm from the basin bottom.
  9. Tighten both screws firmly to secure the unit in position. Ensure the unit is as level as possible and adjust if necessary.

Power Connection

In the DVOC-0050, the power cables for the top light are pre-installed and ready to be connected. Loosen the cable and connect it to the back of the top light unit.

Unit Turning

To switch the function from RGB to white light, or vice versa, the complete unit must be turned so that the correct LEDs face down toward the well plate. The RGB LEDs and white LEDs are mounted on opposite sides of the same aluminum base plate and can be identified by the labels "White" and "RGB" attached to the unit.

  1. Cover the lens bracket with protective material as before.
  2. Loosen both T-slot screws to allow the unit to move down a few centimeters.
  3. Tighten both screws to hold this position and prevent the unit from falling.
  4. Unscrew both the left and right screws from the aluminum LED base plate.
  5. Remove the unit and turn it so that the preferred LEDs now face downward. Take care not to twist the cable at the back. You may temporarily unplug both connectors to avoid twisting.
  6. Fasten both screws back into the base plate.
  7. Loosen both T-slot screws to allow the unit to slide back up to the original height.
  8. Tighten both screws firmly to secure the unit in its final position.
