Last updated: Jul 31, 2026
Why This Technical Note?
This section contains instructions for installing the water pump fix in the DanioVision Temperature Control Unit (DVTCU). You need to do this only when, on a regular basis, a flow error of the basin circuit occurs. This error is indicated by one blink of the Error LED.
Contents of the Water Pump Fix Kit
- 1x printed circuit board with electronics
- 1x connection cable for connecting the pump fix board with the main board
- 2x spacer with pre-assembled nuts
- 1x washer
- 1x screwdriver
How to Install the Water Pump Fix
A - Opening the DanioVision Temperature Control Unit
- Before installing the pump fix, make sure that the DanioVision Temperature Control Unit (DVTCU) is drained, disconnected from water hoses and from the power supply.
- Put the DVTCU in front of you. Using the washer that comes with the pump fix kit, remove the front screw.
- Place the DVTCU in front of you, with the lid on your right hand side.
- Remove the two screws at the top of the side wall.
- Put the DVTCU just over the edge of the table and remove the three remaining screws from the bottom of the side wall.
- Gently pull the side wall towards you to remove it.
B - Attaching the Pump Fix Board
- Remove two screws at the right side of the main board. Keep the screws aside for later use.
- Insert the spacers into both holes. Hand tighten the spacers to prevent overtightening.
- Put the pump fix board in place.
- Fasten the pump fix board on the spacers using the screws that you removed from the main board (step B1).
C - Connecting the Pump Fix Board to the Main Board
- Unplug the white connector marked J6 from the main board and connect it to the connector J6 on the pump fix board.
- Unplug the white connector marked J2 from the right side of the main board and connect it to the connector J4 on the pump fix board.
- Take the wire with a 2-pin connector from the pump fix board, and connect it to the connector J6 of the main board.
- Take the wire with a 4-pin connector from the pump fix board, and connect it to the connector J2 of the main board.
- Unplug the connector J9 from the main board and connect it to connector J3 on the pump fix board.
- Plug the connection cable (consisting of three wires: black, yellow, and red) into the connector J9 of the main board and into the connector J2 of the pump fix board.
D - Closing the DanioVision Temperature Control Unit
- Put the side wall of the DVTCU back in place.
- Tighten the two screws at the top of the side wall, as well as the three screws at the bottom.
- Close the lid of the DVTCU. Make sure that the cables are not caught between the lid and the side walls.
- Put the plastic screw back in place and tighten it.
