Camera Connection Lost in Arena Settings (Network Card Configuration Error)
Last updated: Oct 29, 2026
Problem
After initial setup or following a configuration change, the DanioVision camera shows as disconnected or 'Camera connection lost' within EthoVision XT Arena Settings.
Details
The camera connection drops and cannot be re-established from within EthoVision XT. The most likely cause is a misconfigured network card (NIC) on the PC. Distinct from a physical cable failure.
Solution
1. Open Windows Network and Sharing Center and identify the NIC dedicated to the DanioVision camera.
2. Check the NIC's IPv4 properties: ensure a correct static IP address and subnet mask are set (matching DanioVision camera requirements — consult your setup documentation or Noldus Support).
3. Confirm no other network adapters share the same IP range, which can cause conflicts.
4. Disable and re-enable the NIC, then relaunch EthoVision XT and open Arena Settings.
5. If the camera still does not connect, reboot the PC and repeat.
6. If the problem persists, contact Noldus Support for remote session assistance to diagnose the network configuration.
