Correcting Individual Frames in Track Editor – Setting Nose-Point to Missing and Interpolating
Last updated: Nov 01, 2026
Problem
When trying to mark a single frame's nose-point as 'Missing' in the Track Editor and then interpolate it, EthoVision selects and modifies multiple frames instead of just the intended single frame. The user cannot isolate a single frame for correction.
Details
Symptom: Selecting one row and clicking 'Set to Missing' affects more frames than intended. Interpolation also applies to a range rather than a single point. Affected: EthoVision XT Track Editor, 3-point (nose/body/tail) tracking. Interpolation requires at least one valid data point immediately before and after the missing segment.
Solution
1. In the Track Editor, scroll to the frame you want to correct and click on that specific row to select it.
2. Navigate to the top toolbar and use the 'Mark as Missing' or 'Set to Missing' function to mark only that selected row.
3. With the missing row highlighted, click 'Interpolate' to fill in the missing point based on the surrounding valid data points.
4. If interpolation fails, check whether there is missing data immediately before or after the selected frame—interpolation requires valid anchor points on both sides of the gap.
5. If surrounding frames are also missing, first restore or interpolate those adjacent frames before attempting to interpolate the target frame.
6. Use the playback controls to verify the corrected frame looks correct before proceeding.
7. Save the track after making corrections.
