EthoVision Documentation and Manuals – Location After Installation
Last updated: Nov 01, 2026
Problem
A user wants to access EthoVision PDF manuals and instruction guides but does not know where to find them, or believes they are only accessible on the computer running EthoVision.
Details
Users sometimes believe that EthoVision documentation is only accessible from within the software or only on the licensed computer. In practice, the documentation is installed locally alongside the software. Affected versions: EthoVision XT (all versions).
Solution
1. After installing EthoVision XT, a folder titled 'Other Documentation' is placed on the desktop of the computer where EthoVision was installed.
2. This folder contains PDF copies of all relevant manuals and instruction guides.
3. These PDF files can be copied to a USB drive or network location and opened on any computer — a running EthoVision license is not required to read the PDFs.
4. If the folder is not present after installation, check the EthoVision installation directory (typically C:\Program Files\Noldus\EthoVision XT) for a Documentation or Manuals subfolder.
5. Manuals may also be available for download via the MyNoldus portal under your product downloads.
