Problem

When attempting to export raw trial data to Excel from a multi-arena EthoVision experiment (e.g., 8 arenas), the export fails with an error. The issue occurs intermittently and is not resolved by retrying.

Details

In a multi-arena setup, if one or more arenas have a blank or unconfigured name field, EthoVision cannot correctly structure the export and throws an error. The problem is distinct from large-file export failures caused by data volume. Affects EthoVision XT multi-arena experiments where arenas were added but not fully configured.

Solution

1. Go to Arena Settings and review each configured arena in the experiment.
2. Identify any arena that has a blank or default unnamed field in its properties.
3. Enter a valid, unique name for every arena (e.g., 'Arena 1', 'Arena 2', etc.).
4. Save the arena configuration.
5. Retry the raw data export. The export should complete successfully once all arenas have non-blank name values.
6. As a best practice, name all arenas at setup time before beginning acquisition to prevent this and related configuration issues.
