SBLK License Activation Failure — Force Deactivation Required
Last updated: Oct 29, 2026
Problem
A SBLK (software-based license key) cannot be activated, preventing the user from using the licensed software.
Details
The license becomes stuck in an activated or locked state on the server side, preventing a new activation from completing successfully. This may occur after a failed activation attempt, system reinstall, or hardware change.
Solution
1. The end user should contact Noldus Support and provide their license/SBLK details.
2. A Noldus support agent must perform a force-deactivation of the license on the license server to reset its state.
3. Once force-deactivated, the user can attempt a fresh activation of the SBLK on their machine.
4. If activation still fails after force-deactivation, verify that the system meets network and firewall requirements for license server communication and retry.
