UltraVox microphones are not recognized after restarting the computer

Microphones Not Recognized in UltraVox XT

UltraVox XT may fail to recognize USB microphones under the following conditions:

  • Microphones are plugged into different USB ports than previously used.
  • The computer has recently been in sleep mode.

Solution

  1. Disconnect and then reconnect the USB hub cable to the same USB port used previously.
  2. In UltraVox XT, open Experiment Settings and click the Refresh button.
  3. If a red cross (×) appears next to any microphone, click the button in the Microphone column and reselect the correct microphone from the list. The software will remember the original microphone names.

Best Practice

To avoid recognition issues in the future, always plug each microphone into the same USB port it was initially configured with.
