General update guideline:

• We will NOT actively push Sewio firmware and software updates to customers (if it ain't broke, don't fix it).
• Exception 1: The customer has a reason to want an update. There is no argument against installing firmware and software updates. Tag firmware updates can be done by the customer and involves a fairly simple process using a mobile app (below). Anchor firmware and RTLS Studio software updates must be done (or assisted) by us as it is more technical and involves providing downloads from our Sewio Partner Portal.
• Exception 2: R&D sees a need for pushing a firmware upgrade in certain cases, which will then come with clear instructions.

Instructions for tag firmware updating ('Leonardo' & 'Personal' tag):

1. Tag firmware updates can be done using a smartphone app, also by the customer.
2. Follow the Firmware Update Instructions.
3. Don't forget to check the RTLS Studio version compatibility. If necessary, update the RTLS Studio version as well (see below). RTLS Studio is backward compatible so updates are only necessary in 'upward' direction.
4. For anyone interested in the version changes, see the changelog (very technical).

Instructions for anchor firmware updating:

• Anchor firmware updates can only be downloaded by Sewio partners (that's us), not by our customers. Download the anchor updates through the Sewio Partner Portal.
• Find the installed firmware version in RTLS Studio > RTLS Manager > Anchor Summary.
• For RTLS Studio 2.2 and lower: follow the instructions.
• For RTLS Studio 2.3 and higher: follow the instructions.
• For anyone interested in the version changes, see the changelog (very technical).

Instructions for software updating (RTLS Studio):

• Sewio RTLS Studio software updates can only be downloaded by Sewio partners (that's us), not by our customers. Download the anchor updates through the Sewio Partner Portal. 
• Follow the Update Guide.
• After the update of the RTLS studio software please empty the cash of the web browser via the history settings.
