Connections

The figure below is an example of the connections in a Viso setup.

1. Computer with Viso Services and Viso Recorder is connected to a network switch.
2. Cameras are all connected to the switch. Both the video and audio streams from the cameras can be recorded this way.
3. Separate microphones can be connected to the cameras. Audio is then transferred through the cables that are connected to the switch. It is also possible to connect a microphone directly to the computer with Viso Recorder (see item D).
4. A separate microphone can be connected directly to the computer with Viso Recorder. Since a computer has only one audio input, you can connect only one microphone directly to the Viso Recorder computer, independent from the number of locations. To record multiple audio streams, use the camera microphones, or connect microphones to the cameras (see item C).
5. All Viso computers are connected to the switch.
6. Microphones connected to the Viso Viewer computer allow you to talk to persons in locations. It is also possible to use the computers' built-in microphones.
7. A wireless router can be connected to the switch to enable WiFi access to the Viso network.
8. A smartphone, tablet, or computer can be connected via WiFi to the Viso network to access the Viso Web App. This can be used to remotely view locations, start and stop session recording, and play back sessions.
9. Optionally, connect port 1 on the Viso switch to the company network. This way, domain users can be imported into Viso. Use the settings to enable synchronization with the domain and to ensure that devices are not visible to all users in the domain. With these settings, Viso cameras can only be accessed by Viso users who have the rights to do so. See Rights Per User Account for more information.
