Problem

The CatWalk glass plate (walkway surface) is physically cracked or broken, making gait acquisition impossible.

Details

Physical damage to the glass plate can occur from mechanical stress or impact. This is distinct from routine cleaning issues. The glass must be replaced before any further experiments can be conducted, as a cracked plate compromises both light transmission for paw detection and animal safety.

Solution

1. Stop all experiments immediately to prevent injury to animals or further equipment damage.
2. Do not attempt to use the system with a broken glass plate.
3. Contact Noldus support to request a replacement glass plate, providing your system model and serial number.
4. Once the replacement plate is received, follow the CatWalk hardware manual instructions for glass plate installation, or contact Noldus support for guided assistance.
5. After installation, verify system function with a test run before resuming experiments.
