Camera not detected after software update (CWXT 10.7)

Last updated: Oct 29, 2026

Problem

The CatWalk camera is not detected after upgrading to CatWalk XT 10.7. The system cannot initialize the camera and acquisition cannot be started.

Details

Reported specifically with CWXT 10.7. Downgrading to CWXT 10.6 resolves the issue, suggesting a compatibility problem between the camera driver/firmware and the 10.7 release.

Solution

1. If the camera is not detected after installing CWXT 10.7, first verify all USB/camera cables are securely connected and try restarting the PC and Control Unit.
2. If the camera remains undetected, uninstall CWXT 10.7.
3. Download and install CWXT 10.6 from my.noldus.com.
4. Confirm the camera is detected correctly in CWXT 10.6 before resuming experiments.
5. Report the issue to Noldus Support so the compatibility problem can be investigated for a future 10.7 patch.
