GigE Camera Connection Failure During DanioVision Setup

Last updated: Oct 29, 2026

Problem

The DanioVision camera fails to connect or is not recognized during initial system setup.

Details

Occurs during first-time setup or after hardware changes. The GigE camera interface requires specific network adapter configuration. Reported by users setting up a new DanioVision system.

Solution

1. Ensure the GigE camera cable is firmly connected to the dedicated network interface card (NIC) on the DanioVision PC — do not connect it to a standard router or switch.
2. Configure the NIC with the correct static IP address and subnet mask as specified in the DanioVision GigE camera setup document (request from Noldus Support if not available).
3. Disable any firewall or security software that may block the GigE camera traffic on that NIC.
4. Open EthoVision XT and navigate to Arena Settings to verify the camera is now detected.
5. If the camera is still not found, restart the PC and retry. Contact Noldus Support for the GigE camera configuration document if the issue persists.
