Problem

The user wants to remove or replace the background image shown in the EthoVision XT tracking/arena view during DanioVision experiments.

Details

Symptoms: The live or recorded background of the well plate is visually cluttered, making it harder to inspect detections. The user does not know how to switch to a plain background. Applies to EthoVision XT when used with DanioVision.

Solution

1. In EthoVision XT, open the Arena Settings or the tracking view for your experiment.
2. Locate the 'Show/Hide Background' option in the view controls.
3. Enable the 'Plain' (solid colour) background option.
4. Select the desired solid colour for the background.
5. The arena view will now display a uniform plain background instead of the camera image, which can make animal detections easier to inspect visually.
6. This setting affects the display only and does not alter the underlying video data or tracking calculations.
