EthoVision Hardware System Requirements – GPU, RAM, Storage, and OS Specifications
Last updated: Oct 29, 2026
Problem
A user or IT department needs to know the minimum and recommended hardware specifications for running EthoVision XT 18 or 19, including GPU requirements for Deep Learning features.
Details
Applies to EthoVision XT 18 and 19. Specifications differ from older versions. A physical NVIDIA GPU is mandatory; integrated graphics are not supported. Deep Learning requires a specific CUDA-capable GPU. IT departments frequently request this information before purchase or installation approval.
Solution
The following are the minimum tested specifications for EthoVision XT 18 and 19:
- **Operating System:** Windows 11 Pro
- **Processor:** Intel Core Ultra 7 265 or better
- **Memory:** 32 GB non-ECC RAM
- **Storage:** 1 TB NVMe SSD minimum (additional storage recommended for video files)
- **GPU:** A physical NVIDIA GPU is required; integrated graphics are not supported. For standard tracking, any supported NVIDIA GPU with an appropriate driver is acceptable.
- **Deep Learning:** Tested GPUs are the NVIDIA RTX 5060 and RTX 5070. The GPU driver must support CUDA 12.2 or later.
- **Network:** Internet access is not required for operation; it simplifies license activation but offline activation is available.
For the most current and complete specifications, download the official system requirements document from the EthoVision XT Help or contact Noldus Support. Older versions (e.g., XT 17) have different, lower minimum requirements—consult the Help documentation for the specific installed version.
