C Drive Full Due to FaceReader Screenshot Tool Accumulating Data
Last updated: Oct 29, 2026
Problem
The PC's C drive unexpectedly fills up entirely. Users notice sudden loss of disk space without an obvious cause.
Details
Investigated via remote support. The FaceReader screenshot tool was found to be storing large volumes of data (418 GB in the reported case) on the C drive without the user's awareness. Other lab members may have installed or configured the tool.
Solution
1. Open the screenshot tool associated with FaceReader.
2. Reset the screenshot tool to clear stored data and reset its save path or accumulation settings.
3. Verify the C drive has recovered the expected free space after the reset.
4. Inform all lab members sharing the PC about the screenshot tool behavior to prevent recurrence.
5. Consider redirecting screenshot tool storage to a secondary drive with more capacity.
