Observer XT video panel UI issues: video not appearing in Data and Audio Visualization panel, and UI element overlaps
Last updated: Nov 01, 2026
Problem
After importing a video in Observer XT, the video does not appear in the 'Data and Audio Visualization' panel, and UI elements overlap or display incorrectly.
Details
Affects Observer XT 17. The video is not designed to display in the Data and Audio Visualization panel — it displays in its own dedicated video window. UI overlap issues can occur when the laptop screen resolution is too high (e.g., 4K/HiDPI) or too low for Observer XT's interface scaling.
Solution
1. The video in Observer XT is displayed in its own separate video window, not in the Data and Audio Visualization panel. This is expected behavior.
2. If the video window is not visible, go to the Show/Hide menu in the top-right corner of the Observer XT interface and ensure the video window option is enabled.
3. For UI element overlaps, check your laptop's screen resolution and display scaling settings (Windows Settings > Display). Very high resolutions (e.g., 4K) with high scaling factors or very low resolutions can cause layout issues in Observer XT.
4. Try adjusting the display scaling in Windows (e.g., set to 100% or 125%) and restart Observer XT to see if the UI renders correctly.
