All Cameras Showing Offline / Room Cameras Not Connecting
Last updated: Nov 01, 2026
Problem
All cameras in a Viso lab show as 'Offline' simultaneously. Restarting the network switch and server does not resolve the issue. Cameras appear to be powered on physically.
Details
Affects Viso systems with IP cameras. Can occur suddenly without an obvious triggering event. Symptoms include all cameras in one or more rooms showing an 'Offline' status in the Viso interface. The underlying cause may be a corrupt Viso database or corrupt room configuration rather than a network or hardware fault. Simple reboots may not be sufficient.
Solution
1. First attempt a full reboot of the Recorder PC and network switch to rule out transient connectivity issues.
2. If cameras remain offline after reboot, connect to the Viso system remotely or locally and check the room/location configuration for corruption.
3. If the room configuration is found to be corrupt, create a new room configuration using the existing IP addresses and camera settings.
4. If the Viso database is suspected to be corrupt (multiple rooms affected, errors logged), back up any recoverable data, then create a new database and reconfigure room controls from scratch.
5. Verify each camera is reachable on the network (ping the camera IP addresses) before completing configuration.
6. Re-add all cameras to their respective rooms and confirm they show as online before resuming sessions.
