MediaRecorder 6.5.8847 Installation Instructions
Last updated: Aug 24, 2026
Upgrade notes
Current version: MediaRecorder 6.5.8847
Please note the following important points:
- New camera drivers may be available. We recommend to uninstall the old drivers before you install the new ones. Download the drivers we supply on Other downloads tab, since these were tested with MediaRecorder 6.5. Do not download them from the camera manufacturer.
- New firmware for the cameras may be available. Check this at the website of the camera manufacturer. We recommend to use the latest firmware.
- After upgrading to MediaRecorder 6.5, new settings should be made for the cameras.
- The video files that were made with Media Recorder 2.0, or 1.0 were stored in the folder C:\Users\Public\Public Documents\Noldus\MediaRecorder. Also after upgrading, the videos are stored in this folder. However, if MediaRecorder 6.5 is installed on a computer that did not contain a previous MediaRecorder version, the video files are stored in the folder C:\Users\Public\PublicDocuments\Noldus\MediaRecorder\Video Files. This location can be changed in the main MediaRecorder window.
- If you have a previous version of MediaRecorder on a computer with another operating system than the 64-bit versions of Windows 7 or 10, you should either upgrade Windows, or install MediaRecorder on a computer with one of these operating systems.
New device
MediaRecorder now supports the Basler acA1920-155um professional USB camera.
Procedure
- Carefully read the above notes, and take a look at the what's new section of the Help.
- Download and install the MediaRecorder 6.5 installation file. You can find this file in the 'Version' tab.
- Download the MediaRecorder 6.5 Help in the 'Documentation' tab. Read the section Upgrade to MediaRecorder 6.5 for instructions.
- Optionally, download and install the new drivers for the cameras and other hardware that you are using on the 'Drivers & Tools' tab. Please only use drivers from this website, as only that version has been tested with MediaRecorder.
