What exactly do the different colours in the heatmaps in EthoVision XT represent?

These represent the time spent in that area, where blue is the lowest and red the highest amount of time spent. Starting in EthoVision XT 15, the heatmap includes a legend that indicates the number of seconds for the highest part of the range. If you merge heatmaps (so each one represents multiple trials), the scale is the proportion of time rather than the number of seconds.
