EthoVision Installation Download Fails or Is Slow via MyNoldus
Last updated: Oct 29, 2026
Problem
Users are unable to download the EthoVision XT installation files from the MyNoldus portal, or the download fails partway through (e.g., only 7.1 GB of an 8.27 GB file downloads). Download speed may also be excessively slow.
Details
The EthoVision installer is a large ZIP file (~8 GB). Download failures can occur due to network timeouts, institutional bandwidth restrictions, or MyNoldus portal issues. Affected versions include EthoVision XT 17, 18, and 19.
Solution
1. Contact Noldus support and request a **direct ShareFile download link** for the required version of EthoVision XT.
2. Download the file to a local folder on the computer (not a network drive).
3. Allow the download to complete fully before attempting extraction.
4. Verify the downloaded file size matches the expected size.
5. If the ZIP still appears invalid after a complete download, try extracting with **7-Zip** instead of Windows' built-in extraction tool.
6. If institutional network restrictions are the cause, ask IT to whitelist the download source or perform the download from outside the network.
