MyNoldus Account Not Linked to License – License or Downloads Not Visible
Last updated: Oct 29, 2026
Problem
After creating a MyNoldus account, users cannot see their EthoVision license or any downloads in the portal. The portal displays a message such as 'It looks like your account isn't linked to a Noldus software license yet.'
Details
This issue has multiple causes: (1) The user registered MyNoldus with an email address different from the one recorded as the Registered User in Noldus's licensing database. (2) The license is registered under a different contact (e.g., a colleague or previous lab member) and has not been transferred to the new user. (3) An account configuration issue (e.g., network/IP subnet setting) prevents the account from being linked. Affected functionality includes accessing downloads, license keys, and NoldusCare training materials.
Solution
1. **Verify the email address used to register MyNoldus** matches exactly the email address Noldus has on file as the Registered User for your license. Check with your account manager or previous license holder if unsure.
2. If the email does not match, either:
a. Create a new MyNoldus account using the correct registered email address, or
b. Contact Noldus support to update the Registered User email to your current address (see also the article 'Updating License Owner / Transferring License Registration to a New Contact').
3. If the license is registered under a colleague's name, ask Noldus support to transfer the Registered User role to your account.
4. If you are attempting to share license access with invitees (e.g., for NoldusCare training materials), ensure your own account is correctly linked to the license first before sending invitations.
5. If you believe the email is correct but the license is still not visible, contact Noldus technical support — there may be an account configuration issue (e.g., subnet/IP settings) that requires backend adjustment.
6. Note: You do not need a special registration code to create a MyNoldus account. Use your known registered email address and follow the standard registration flow; the portal will link your account to associated licenses automatically.
