Exporting FaceReader Project Data Fails Due to Infeasible Scored Stimuli
Last updated: Oct 29, 2026
Problem
When attempting to export data from a FaceReader project with many participants, an error states that some scored stimuli are 'infeasible' and must be resolved before exporting. Users cannot edit the scored stimuli because the analyses are already completed.
Details
Affects FaceReader 10 projects with large participant numbers (e.g., 600+). The error is specific to the Scored Stimuli configuration, not the facial-expression analysis results themselves. Analyses do not need to be cleared or redone.
Solution
1. In the Project Explorer, expand the analysis for an affected participant.
2. Expand the Scored Stimuli node and double-click it to open.
3. Use the pencil (edit) icons to correct start/end times of incorrect scored stimuli, or delete any invalid scored stimulus entries.
4. Repeat for all affected participants.
5. Once all scored stimuli are valid, retry the export.
6. If you only need facial-expression data and not stimulus-based scores, you may be able to export without resolving scored stimuli — consult the export options available in your version.
