FaceReader Fails to Start Due to Insufficient GPU Memory
Last updated: Oct 29, 2026
Problem
After installing FaceReader 10, nothing happens when the user attempts to open it. The software silently fails to launch with no error message displayed.
Details
Root cause is a GPU that does not meet FaceReader 10's minimum hardware requirement. FaceReader 10 requires a physical NVIDIA GPU with at least 4 GB of dedicated video memory. GPUs with 2 GB (e.g., NVIDIA GeForce GT 730) are insufficient. Systems relying on Intel integrated graphics are also unsupported.
Solution
1. Check your PC's GPU specifications (dedicated VRAM must be 4 GB or more, NVIDIA required).
2. If the GPU does not meet requirements, use a different computer with a compatible NVIDIA GPU.
3. Ensure the NVIDIA GPU is set as the primary/active display adapter in Windows display settings (not Intel integrated graphics).
4. Reinstall FaceReader 10 on the compatible machine and attempt to launch again.
