Deactivating a MediaRecorder Software License

Problem

A user wants to deactivate their MediaRecorder software license key, for example before transferring it to another machine or returning it.

Details

Applies to software (non-dongle) activation licenses for MediaRecorder 6.x. Both online and offline deactivation paths are available.

Solution

1. Open MediaRecorder on the computer where the license is currently active.
2. Go to Help > Deactivate License.
3. **Online deactivation (recommended):** Select 'Deactivate Online' and click OK. MediaRecorder will deactivate and close automatically.
4. **Offline deactivation:** Select 'Deactivate Offline'. Scan the QR code displayed on screen and follow the resulting link within 24 hours to complete deactivation on the Noldus license server.
5. If you are uninstalling the software without deactivating first, contact Noldus Support to release the license manually.
