MediaRecorder Closes Unexpectedly Shortly After Launch

Problem

MediaRecorder opens normally but automatically shuts down after approximately 20–30 seconds with no error message displayed.

Details

Reported in MediaRecorder 6.x. The application appears to load successfully but terminates on its own without user action and without producing a visible error dialog. Root cause may relate to corrupted installation files or codec issues.

Solution

1. Uninstall the current installation of MediaRecorder via Windows Control Panel > Programs and Features.
2. Obtain the full installer package from Noldus Support (the MyNoldus portal may only contain a setup stub; request the complete installation folder as a ZIP if needed).
3. Run the full installer and complete all steps including codec installation.
4. Restart the computer.
5. Launch MediaRecorder and verify it remains open.
