License Key Shows Incorrect or Past Expiry Date After Activation
Last updated: Oct 29, 2026
Problem
After entering a newly generated NoldusHub license key, the software displays an invalid or already-expired expiry date that does not match the date shown in the license portal.
Details
The license key appears valid when generated (e.g., expiry July 2026), but after activation on the target machine the software reports the license as invalid or expired (e.g., December 2024). This discrepancy is caused by network-level Group Policy restrictions blocking proper license server communication during activation, not by a corrupt or incorrect key.
Solution
1. Confirm the license key details (expiry date, seat count) are correct in the Noldus license portal before proceeding.
2. Determine whether the machine is subject to organisational Group Policy or firewall rules that restrict outbound internet access.
3. If Group Policy restrictions are present, disconnect the machine from the corporate network.
4. Connect the machine to an unrestricted internet connection (e.g., a mobile hotspot).
5. Re-enter the license key through the NoldusHub license activation dialog.
6. Verify that the expiry date now matches the date shown in the license portal.
7. Reconnect the machine to the corporate network. If the license must be activated on the corporate network long-term, contact your IT department to whitelist the Noldus license server endpoints.
