Offline Rooms Not Appearing / HTTPS Certificate Setup for Cameras
Last updated: Oct 29, 2026
Problem
Cameras or rooms show as offline in Viso, or users wish to enable HTTPS on IP cameras and are unsure how to proceed.
Details
Cameras with HTTPS enabled require a valid certificate and IT involvement to configure. Rooms appearing offline can sometimes be resolved by toggling their enabled state and rebooting the server.
Solution
1. For offline rooms: In Viso settings, locate the affected room(s) and uncheck, then re-check their enabled checkboxes to force a refresh.
2. If rooms remain offline, reboot the Viso server.
3. If the issue persists after reboot, contact Noldus Support for further investigation.
4. For enabling HTTPS on cameras: Note that HTTPS encrypts traffic to the camera web interface (which is already password protected). To enable HTTPS you will need:
a. A valid SSL certificate for each camera.
b. Your IT staff to apply the certificate and configure HTTPS on the camera's web interface.
5. Contact your IT department to complete the HTTPS setup; Noldus Support can advise on compatibility requirements.
