Recorder PC Storage Full — Proactive Disk Space Management
Last updated: Nov 01, 2026
Problem
A Viso Recorder PC is nearly out of disk space, which risks recording failures and data loss if not addressed before capacity is reached.
Details
Affects any Viso Recorder PC configuration. As recorded video data accumulates, disk space on the Recorder PC can reach critically low levels. When storage is nearly exhausted, new recordings may fail silently or overwrite existing data. The issue is identified proactively through monitoring but requires action before the drive fills completely.
Solution
1. Identify which Recorder PC is low on disk space by checking storage usage in the Viso administration interface or directly on the PC.
2. Review stored recordings and archive or delete sessions that are no longer needed (note: deleted videos cannot be recovered — confirm with stakeholders before deleting).
3. If recordings must be retained, expand the available disk space by adding an additional drive or increasing the volume size.
4. Update the Viso data folder configuration if the storage path changes after adding new disk space.
5. Establish a routine maintenance schedule to monitor disk usage and archive completed study data before storage becomes critical.
