SBLK License Expires When NoldusCare Lapses – Reactivation After Renewal
Last updated: Oct 29, 2026
Problem
A software-based license (SBLK) stops working or is flagged as expired because the associated NoldusCare maintenance contract lapsed, even if the user has since renewed.
Details
Affects SBLK licenses that are tied to a NoldusCare expiration date (CLMD). When NoldusCare expires, the SBLK license linked to that contract also expires and EthoVision can no longer be activated or used. After NoldusCare is renewed, the license must be manually reactivated—it does not resume automatically. Relevant for all EthoVision XT versions using SBLK licensing.
Solution
1. Renew the NoldusCare contract through your Noldus sales representative or the MyNoldus portal as soon as possible.
2. Notify Noldus Support that the renewal order has been submitted; Support can request that operations extend the NoldusCare expiration date temporarily to bridge any gap while the renewal is processed.
3. Once the renewal is confirmed and the license is reactivated in the Noldus system, reactivate the SBLK on each affected PC:
a. Open EthoVision XT.
b. Go to Help > License > Activate.
c. Enter the license number and activation code provided by Noldus Support.
4. If you have multiple SBLK seats, repeat the reactivation on each PC.
5. Confirm that EthoVision opens fully licensed after reactivation.
6. To prevent future lapses, set a calendar reminder before the NoldusCare expiration date and renew in advance.
